Munich, September 14, 2026 – NavVis, the Source of Spatial Truth for the built world, introduces NavVis VLX 4, ushering in a new era of reality capture and documentation. This first-of-its-kind reality capture device brings true 3 mm point cloud resolution to dynamic scanning, capturing the fine geometric detail required for demanding Scan-to-BIM, MEP, and industrial applications. NavVis VLX 4 enables more high-detail work to be captured in motion, reducing the need for slower, more labor-intensive capture methods while increasing flexibility and efficiency on site.

Capture Details at Speed

NavVis VLX 4 is the first wearable reality capture device to achieve a native point cloud resolution of 3 mm, meeting the requirements of LOD350+, Scan-to-BIM, and MEP (Mechanical, Engineering, Plumbing) applications. Its three-LiDAR sensor configuration, combined with NavVis processing technology, produces clean, highly detailed point clouds that clearly resolve fine geometric features such as thin pipes, bolts, brackets, and sharp edges.

The configuration includes Hesai’s MT LiDAR, the first LiDAR developed specifically for reality capture applications. From the very beginning, NavVis worked closely with Hesai during its development, providing extensive feedback to help design and optimize the sensor for reality capture.

For projects where capturing this level of detail has traditionally required teams to supplement dynamic scanning with slower capture methods, NavVis VLX 4 enables more of the required data to be captured in motion - reducing additional equipment, setups, and time on site.
