Software Engineering for Indoor Mapping (f/m) based in Munich

  

As a working student or intern in Mapping and Perception team, you will be a part of an international team, where the main language is English. Together with you, we will find a mixture of topics for you depending on availability and your specific skill set. Available topics are among the software development of the core components, Robotics, SLAM, Computer Vision, Calibration, point cloud processing as well as UI / UX development or advancing the continuous integration infrastructure. You will have flexible working hours that you can easily adapt according to your schedule, lectures, and exams.

You will work on:

  • Developing our Indoor Mapping technology and its components including the real-time mapping and post-processing components and the team’s infrastructure
  • One of the available projects in the domain of the core components, Robotics, SLAM, Computer Vision, Calibration, point cloud processing as well as UI / UX development or advancing the continuous integration infrastructure.
  • Improving the whole product life-cycle from the idea of design and development to testing and deployment.

You have:

  • Strong coding skills in C++ and/or Python
  • Experience in object-oriented software development
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving skills
  • You are familiar with command line tools - Linux know-how is a plus
  • An independent, structured way of working with a strong interest in getting things done

You are:

  • Available for 10-20 hours per week as a working student or 
  • Motivated to work on challenging problems
  • Eager to become part of an excellent team

We will be thrilled if you have:

  • Successfully built your own C++ or Python applications - or 
  • Already worked with C++ Libraries like Boost, Eigen, OpenCV, ROS or PCL or worked with a larger Python code base - or 
  • Already participated in the development of large software projects, Github experience is a plus  - or 
  • An interest for and experience with working on hardware and sensors such as cameras, laser scanners, IMUs - or 
  • Experience in web technologies such as JS, TypeScript, Angular 2+ is a plus - or 
  • An interest in DevOps, CI/CD, and agile methodologies
